Anonymous asked: I'm sorry this is a weird question but do you play neopets? because I found a lot of your work on naytien's petpage, and if it's theft I'd want to report it but if it's actually your account I'd hate to bother you!
Aw, no I don’t play. And they even took story information, too, that’s disappointing. I especially feel bad for the people who have had their commissions taken.
Yes, please do report it and thank you very much.
What a sorry asshole. I am especially impressed that they had the fucking balls to then be like “Wow I worked so hard on all this art and writing” [sic]
Are you fucking kidding me? Jess, you are a better man than I. I would literally pull their lungs through their bellybuttons for this disrespectful bullshit.
Thief. You are a disgusting human being and I honestly wish nothing but the worst for you.
Psst. You also stole one of my character, fucker. Talk to you soon :D
What I’m disturbed about is she even says her name is “Kate / Jess” - it makes me feel like she’s stealing your identity… not cool. Will report too <3
(the pet - http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=Naytien)
Reported to Tumblr, DeviantArt, and Subeta.
Let this be a warning to you: Don’t fuck with my characters.
So I found out someone stole art/design of one of my characters.
What do I do?
Do I send them an ask? A message on Subeta? Do I ask them to just come clean or take it down? It’s not ON Subeta yet so I can’t really report it as theft, but it is on tumblr and I am really bothered by it.
But there’s no rules telling me not to!
So people are clamoring for us to add a “You cannot trace” rule to the custom wearables page. People apparently “didn’t know” that was a rule.
I’m sorry, but… what?
First of all, it’s in the site rules and terms that you agree to every time you play the game. So… don’t say you didn’t know it’s a rule. That means you didn’t read.
Second of all, and more importantly…
Are you a decent human being? Yes? Then you should KNOW that tracing other peoples’ art is never okay. Whether it’s from a movie or someone else’s artwork or a comic or whatever doesn’t matter. Why would anyone in their right mind think TRACING and then profiting off of that tracing is okay?!
If YOU drew something by scratch, and someone traced over part of it for a custom wearable, you wouldn’t be saying “it’s not in the rules, so it’s okay!” - you’d be screaming for their blood. How is this any different?!
That’s the most frustrating part to me! You are an artist yourself! How can you think -tracing- is okay, at any time?!
Are you a decent person? Yes? THEN DON’T TRACE OTHER PEOPLES’ WORK. Pretty simple stuff here.
