wowww subeta is fucking ridiculous??? this is thing that is actually happening: they denied somebody’s 10 or so items that were in the CW queue because ONE item had “suspicion of unoriginal artwork.” Which is pretty bullshit to begin with, as elestrial is a really talented artist. and then they freeze

The user flat out admitted to us she TRACED another piece of art for a custom wearable. Sorry, but… tracing art on Subeta and redistributing it is a freezable offense for a good reason.

Oh, well that’s super different. I wish there was a good way to actually…communicate things like that, it’d make Subeta look a heckuva lot nicer. You guys totally look like the bad guys on the forum end of it. I:

Taking about frozen users on the site is against the rules for good reason, as well. If Elestrial isn’t going to come clean with her fans and commissioners about the reasons she was frozen, that’s really sad for her and people who idolize her and her art.  We may look like the bad guys, but users also should check their facts before they run off spouting about how unfair we are.

Lmao I can’t check my facts; I can’t talk about frozen users! On site, anyhow. Idk, maybe I shouldn’t have spoken up, but I didn’t tag it for a reason; I wasn’t really expecting (nor really wanting) a response. I just haven’t been feeling too interested in Subeta lately, and it really riled me up to log in and see what looked like unfair behavior. I’m sorry for mouthing off about things that I didn’t have the details for; I’ve just seen a lot of unjust freezing in my time and I jumped to the wrong conclusion.

Well, there was this post - by a friend, on her own CW board:

I just wanted to let everyone know that Elestrial was frozen due to tracing the flowers on the background CW from a reference picture. She did not know that when referencing an item, you are not allowed to trace. We are very sorry!

I’m not trying to turn this into a long-winded argument. It’s just very frustrating to see this sort of thing, and then also see people saying “Well if she didn’t know it was against the rules, she shouldn’t be frozen!”

You’re tracing someone else’s work! I have no idea how anyone could think that’s NOT against the rules. Honestly, I’ve been very flabbergasted by all of this because I KNOW Elestrial’s a talented artist. The fact she flat out traced something instead of drawing it herself really just blows my mind. Why would you risk your account like that, for a couple of flowers? Who knows.
